Spring Grove Cemetery
|
|
Spring Grove Cemetery is located in Cincinnati, OH. It's 733 acres big with many man-made lakes, art, statues (dating from several different periods), a waterfall and much more.
This place, for it being a cemetery, is really breath-taking! You could spend hours browsing and taking in its natural beauty. I still am in awe. They have a website; so check it out.

These are some of the several pics I took today when I was there on my two hour break from school at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. It was raining but still these pics turned out well. Hopefully, it caught the 'essence' for you as it did for me...... enjoy!

Owsley Fork Reservoir

These were taken shortly after me moving here. My friend Jacky came down for a visit and we were looking for one of his friends from boot camp and decided to wander aimlessly through Berea. We zigzagged allover and stumbled up on this place. We both thought it was pretty and scenic considering hes from New Jersey and I'm from Nebraska.
Good thing for Jacky, he was equipped with his camera, so I took some pics! : )

Fishies, fishies... swimmin' in the tank, bein all happy & cute
|
|
Well, this is our (Anthony and I) fishie tank... a 55 gal. beast! Heh. The boy is totally in charge of this because, well, hes the fish addict and he *truly* enjoys it as a hobby. Hmm, what a dork!
Anyways, we spent lots on it and the beginning pics are quite 'ghetto' because we didn't have much done to it. As you can see in later pics it looks quite good. I definitely think we could give a pet store a run for their money! ....
I happened to buy a hog-nose puffer fish (they are from Laos, Thailand, Asia areas) and I didn't realize they like to slice & dice their meals (aka his tank mates).
Needless to say, the boy and I found many of our starter cichlids breakfast, lunch and dinner for this greedy bastard that I had named, Piggy. Piggy is back at the pet store. And were working on stocking our cichlid supply back up, *again*.
UPDATE: All of our fish, frogs, dragonfish etc you see in these pics are dead. Our tank is now in storage awaiting a future salt water project.

These pics were more less taken on June '04. It was when I made my journey from NE to KY to be with my boyfriend (whom I met online).
UPDATE: We no longer live in those apartments (although they were nice) and my car is no more. The boy killed in in a bad accident on I-75. : (

My Gurl, Monica & her familia
|
|
This is my gurl, Monica. We're very close and are my like sisters, not cousins. We've been through a lot and this crazy internet brought us back to one another when we lost touch for many years.
She has guided me and helped me in many ways, not to mention saved my ass a couple times, . Without her I'd be lost.
UPDATE: Drew is now an ex-husband. I still think hes a funny, charming guy and my lil cousins are super cute- although older now.
Much Love, yall!

Junior
|
|
Junior, my first pit bull....
I named him after my favorite Nascar driver (Dale Earnhardt Jr). Of course, over time I've given him several nicknames, including Muppy or Mu-Mupps!
Muppy was a fantastic dog! He was truly my best friend. We would hang out, he would go for rides in the car with me everywhere, celebrated birthdays with a cheeseburger kids meal, would sit or lay beside me when I was sad. Just the ideal dog.
I even let him sleep in the bed with me. Sometimes I would use him as a pillow. Such a wonderful, sweet awesome bully! Sadly, he passed. You will be missed, Junior.
I love you!

Kloe
|
|
This is Kloe, she was my second pit. Sadly, she lost her life very tragically at 5 months of age. We had formed such a great bond, not to mention she was so spoiled, in a word she was my angel.
She passed in Oct '02.
To this very day I still have a hard time talking about her or seeing pics of her... when I do, I instantly break down and cry. : (
She's buried in my aunts backyard right outside my bedroom window so I can always look out and 'see' her. I guess in ways it makes me feel closer, I believe her spirit is with me.

Princess
|
|
Princess is a pit bull that I rescued from a bad situation. Her previous owners decided they didn't want her after they had abused her, her entire life. They were going to 'give' her away in the paper where she surely would've been used to fight. : /
Some people truly disgust me.
When we picked her up, the old man had a muzzle on her, we immediately removed it and she gave us lots of kisses.... Despite several attempts of placing her in a loving forever home, I guess she thought she had found it in us... so we kept her.
Sadly, this past winter (Dec '03) we had to humanely put her to sleep due to her biting a family member.
However, she was a great dog and will be missed by us all.
